How many sessions will I need?
The number of sessions required depends upon the treatment and your individual circumstances. The treatment pages on this website give a guide as to the number of sessions usually required. Please contact Helen for further advice.
What is the time limit for your free stop smoking back up sessions?
There is no time limit. Most therapists have a 3 month time limit, but with Helen you are welcome to come back anytime even if it is 5 years or more since your initial session. For more detail about Helen's Stop Smoking Package visit the stop smoking page.
The treatment I am looking for is not listed on your website can you still help me?
Helen does offer other treatments; please contact Helen for a confidential discussion.
Do you offer a free initial consultation?
Helen doesn't actually offer a free consultation as the first session includes a full hypnotherapy session. The first session usually lasts longer to give time to discuss your issues and for Helen to explain hypnotherapy to you, if after the first half hour you don't feel comfortable or feel that hypnotherapy isn't for you, then there will be no charge.
What are your fees?
For current fees and payment details please visit the fees page.
What payment methods do you accept?
Payments can be made by Cash or Cheque at the end of each session, or you can pay by Debt or Credit Card in advance via Google Checkout. Please note that there aren’t any card facilities on the premises, so if you do want to pay by Debit or Credit Card it must be via Google Checkout in advance. See the fees page for more details.
Do you sell gift vouchers?
Yes, gift vouchers are available for all treatments. Visit the fees page for more details.
Do you have Hypnotherapy CDs available?
Yes. All clients receive a free hypnotherapy CD after their first session.
I have tried hypnosis before to stop smoking but it didn't work, can you still help me to stop smoking?
Yes. Just because hypnotherapy hasn't worked for you in the past it doesn't mean it won’t work for you now. Helen has seen many people in this situation and they have still stopped smoking in just one session.
I have tried to stop smoking using numerous different ways but they have all failed can hypnosis still help me to stop smoking?
Yes. A long as you want to stop smoking hypnosis will help you stop. Most people that come for hypnosis to stop smoking have already tried: willpower, patches, chewing gum, NHS classes, champix, inhalers, Allen Carr and zyban and failed but then stopped smoking in one session of hypnosis.
I am pregnant is it still safe for me to be hypnotised?
Yes. It is perfectly safe for pregnant women to be hypnotised.
Can I come with my friend so we can be treated together?
All the treatments are done on a one-to-one basis as they are tailored to each client’s individual needs. However you can book back to back sessions so you can arrive together, there are comfortable waiting facilities so you can wait for each other.

Will I be asleep in hypnosis?
No. You are awake and alert, aware of everything that is happing.
Will I be under the hypnotist power?
No. You are in control. The client remains in control of their thoughts and behaviour at all times with you being the ‘Captain' and the therapist being the ‘Navigator'.
What if I can't be hypnotized?
You can. Everyone can. As long as you wish to enter hypnosis you will.
Is it safe?
Yes. Not to be confused with stage Hypnosis, Clinical Hypnosis is absolutely safe, respectful and confidential.
Will I tell you something I don't want you to know while I'm in trance?
No. Most of the time you'll remain silent but even if you do speak, you won't say anything you didn't want your therapist to know as you will remain in control of your thoughts, actions and behaviour.
What is Hypnosis?
Hypnosis is a deep state of mental relaxation.
Once a hypnotic state has been reached, the subconscious mind can then absorb information, suggestion and other content, which can bring about therapeutic changes.
Hypnotherapy works by you allowing communication with your subconscious mind – the part of your mind that controls your habits, emotions and behaviour.
Unlike many other forms of therapy and counseling that produce results in months or even years, hypnotherapy communicates suggestions and alternative behaviours directly to your subconscious mind, meaning that changes can take place very rapidly.
Hypnosis is not magic but it can have magical results!
